Republicans take on Michelle Obama on horrible lunch program

Historically first ladies institute programs that are not controversial. Laura Bush concentrated on reading, Rosalynn Carter focused her attention on the performing arts and Claudia Johnson focused her attention on beautifying Washington DC. Michelle Obama came in looking like she would be the same kind of first lady with her healthy foods initiative. She expanded her garden, she’s very athletic and pushed kids being active. She’s also an advocate for kids eating better. Seems innocent. Right?Michelle-Obama-school-lunch-program

Michelle Obama has decided to make kids in school more healthy. She has gone about it as most liberal programs do. They make everything the same for everyone. Kids in high school now have meals that are geared towards the kids who have the least amount of activity. As you can see from the lunch in the picture, the school lunch program isn’t going to feed an active teen. It will only feed the least active of children.

For kids who want to play sports they simply are not going to be able to get the caloric intake they need to perform. This is going to force them to sneak in high sugar substitutes so they are not going hungry. Why treat the kids who don’t do any physical activites the same as the kids who play 3 sports and are in band? Because liberals must treat everyone the same.

With Obamacare, a young healthy man must get the same exact same coverage as a old sickly woman. This lunch program is no different. Kids this young are less likely to submit to this kind of hunger. They fight back with Twitter and Facebook. Worse off some schools are losing money with this program.

Republican lawmakers have finally woken up to this cry by the people. House Republicans are proposing to let some schools opt out of healthier school lunch and breakfast programs if they are losing money. A GOP spending bill for agriculture and food programs released Monday would allow schools to apply for waivers if they have a net loss on school food programs for a six month period.
