Baldwin Opposes Pruitt Abandons Wisconsin Farmers

[Madison, WI]—Senator Tammy Baldwin vowed Thursday to oppose the confirmation of Scott Pruitt as the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. In this shocking move against the interest of Wisconsin farmers, Senator Baldwin’s opposition puts her in lock-step with the Obama Administration’s dangerous Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rules, that would expand regulatory powers to unreasonable levels at the expense of Wisconsin farmers.

“After nearly twenty years in Washington, Senator Tammy Baldwin has lost touch with the hardworking farmers throughout Wisconsin,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Senator Baldwin’s opposition to Scott Pruitt’s nomination shows she would rather defend burdensome Washington regulations left over from the Obama Administration than fight for farmers here at home.”
